Frequently Asked Questions:

Highly Capable Testing: starts next month. Please remember that no preperation in necessary and all kindergarteners are tested in short, 15 minute sessions. Should support be appropriate, the PEP team will contact parents directly. More information is on the district website.

Volunteering: Every volunteer and visitor to the school should have a background check and always check in with the office. We have some fun events happening, like our field trip and Recess with Kids where you can directly add to children’s experiences. Sign up to volunteer with the district and click “CLARK” as a school you’ll be visiting. It’s an involved process, so start today!

Curriculum Night

A big thank you to families to made it to Curriculum Night. It was great to see you again! Sharing what we’re doing in the classroom is always a joy! The PowerPoint is available here.

Please reach out.  If you were unable to make it to Curriculum Night, all paperwork will come home in the Blue Folder on Thursday. Take a moment and check that your district info is correct and please fill out and return the supplemental snack and breakfast information. The Issaquah School Foundation is planning to continue snacks for those who need them and sign up. We have students who have a snack from the office, and to continue receiving them we need the information in the purple half sheet.

Scholastic Books.

Scholastic Books are an in-school book ordering service where your child brings home the books you order online. Scholastic offers reduced prices and paperback versions of many books that are still  in hardback only.  Scholastic partners with our PTA each year in our book fair, too!  As an incentive to classes, each order earns points that go toward our class library. There is no obligation to purchase books for our classroom, but if you would like to do so, we have a wishlist.

 Reading Groups

Guided reading groups are part of our morning rotation. Through small group reading, we support and assess student knowledge. Groups are not change many times over the year as children’s vocabulary and understanding are constantly changing.

Class Charter

Our class charter has taken shape! We want to be safe and have fun with friends. Ask your child what being safe looks like? What kind of fun is safe in school?
