We had a great first week back after Mid-Winter Break!
This week we re-established expectations for being in groups and in the building and got a little sunshine! In math we’re continuing to find all the ways to add numbers together to make numbers under 10. Our rainbow math has been a hit. Ask your child about it.
In reading and phonics we’re exploring the sounds letters make when they are together. We know that th, sh, ch, and wh are all special sounds and that we can only sometimes hear them when we are sounding out words.
Lunch for the Break Update!
GREAT work Clark Sharks donating items for Lunch for the Break. Thanks to your generosity and kindness we were able to donate 795 items to the food bank. Congratulations to the kindergartners for winning with the most items donated. We have set a high bar for other schools to challenge. Thank you again for your donations and supporting our community.
We are in need of headphones for our students. If you have any headphones or earbuds that you are no longer using, please donate them to Clark. We will be disinfecting any donations and getting them into our classrooms to support students and use of technology. Please drop off any donations to the office. Kindergarten particularly needs over-the-ear headphones.
From the District:
Thank you to our community for renewing our two-year Educational Programs and Operations Levy! Your support for ISD schools ensures local kids will continue to receive a high quality education in a safe learning environment. The levy passed with 63.6% of voters approving the measure. To pass, levies in Washington State must be approved by a simple majority (50% +) of voters.
